Global Handwashing Day

The purpose of Global Handwashing Day serves as a reminder that handwashing with soap and water is one of the best steps we can take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others.  To further this goal, the theme for 2021 is, "Our Future is at Hand - Let's Move Forward Together.

Handwashing Education can:  Reduce the number of people who get sick with diarrhea by 23-40%, Reduce absenteeism due to gastrointestinal illness in school children by 29-57%, Reduce diarrheal illness in people with weakened immune systems by about 58%, and Reduce respiratory illnesses, like colds, in the general population by about 16-21%
